Environment Canada Contributes to AMERICANA 2011, International Environmental Technology Trade Show and Conference

MONTRÉAL, Que. -- January 27, 2011 -- Today, the Honourable Peter Kent, Canada's Minister of the Environment, announced a $75,000 financial contribution to the 9th biennial edition of AMERICANA, the International Environmental Technology Trade Show and Conference, which will be held in Montréal from March 22 to 24, 2011.
"The Government of Canada is proud to have partnered with this large international gathering of environmental professionals ever since the first conference back in 1995. We strongly believe that environmental technologies have much to contribute to research into solutions to local, national and international environmental challenges," stated Minister Kent.
AMERICANA, organized by RÉSEAU environnement, is an essential meeting place for thousands of researchers, creators and businesspeople in the environmental field.
"AMERICANA is a gathering where over 8 000 professionals will have the opportunity to share their vision and knowledge. It is a unique forum that encourages scientific, technical and commercial dialogue and allows our expertise to be disseminated on an international scale," noted Michel Lamontagne, president of RÉSEAU environnement.
